Fond du Lac man, 71, arrested for 5th OWI offense after traffic stop
FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. - A 71-year-old Fond du Lac man was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, fifth offense.
What we know:
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, around 2:40 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, a trooper stopped a vehicle after a registration check revealed the registered owner had a suspended driver's license.
During the stop, the trooper observed signs of impairment, and subsequent field sobriety testing confirmed the motorist was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
He was arrested and charged with 5th offense OWI. A legal blood draw was conducted at an area hospital, and the driver was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail.

He also received citations for having open intoxicants in the vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
