Firefighters put out large blaze near 22nd and Grant in Milwaukee



MILWAUKEE -- Authorities responded to a second-alarm fire near South 22nd and Grant Streets in Milwaukee Friday evening, Aug. 9.

The call to officials came in shortly before 7 p.m.

Deputy Chief Joseph Hegeman Jr., with the Milwaukee Fire Department, said the heavy fire extended to a nearby home.

One person was inside but was able to escape without injury.

A dog was rescued from the fire; FOX6 News camera captured firefighters helping treat it.







The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
