Fire damages Kenosha apartment building; cause under investigation
KENOSHA, Wis. - A Kenosha apartment complex was damaged by fire on Friday morning, Jan. 24. Firefighters were dispatched to the Sheridan Mews Apartment complex around 6:30 a.m. for the report of a vehicle on fire in an attached garage.
What we know:
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a significant fire in an attached garage with heavy black smoke from the roofline. The building is a six-unit apartment complex with attached garages.
Everyone was safely evacuated and sheltered on the scene on city buses for warming. No injuries were reported.

Two units are uninhabitable as a result of the damage. At this time, the entire building is without utilities. It is unknown when residents will be able to return to their apartments.
Journey Disaster Relief (DRT) Team is assisting the displaced residents.

The cause and origin of the fire are currently being investigated – and no damage estimate is currently available.
