Fatal crash on I-45 near Appleton Avenue closes freeway

A man was killed in a crash on southbound I-45 near Appleton Avenue around Sunday morning. Deputies say his vehicle rolled over and he was ejected.

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office conducted a freeway shutdown of southbound I-45 near Appleton Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, May 1 after a rollover crash where the driver was ejected.

A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

All traffic was diverted off at Good Hope Road. The roadway reopened around 10:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
