Harley 110th kicks off as the biggest party of the summer
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The bikers are here, the countdown clock at the Harley-Davidson Museum struck zero at 6:00 p.m., and the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration officially kicked off in Milwaukee on Thursday, August 29th. The celebration runs through Labor Day Weekend -- and includes a host of events throughout Milwaukee, and the state of Wisconsin!
One of the largest gatherings of bikers for the 110th anniversary celebration occurred along Milwaukee's Lakefront, with bikers flooding the Summerfest grounds at Henry Maier Festival Park.
Thursday was a sort of "Opening Day" atmosphere, with folks getting settled with a little food, a little drink, and deluxe souvenirs!
Meanwhile, some chose keepsakes that will last forever!
FOX6 News caught up with one woman who spotted a free tattoo stand and decided to get her first-ever tattoo -- and a couple who got engaged on Day One of the big celebration, with the man telling FOX6 News: "I blindsided her!"
Check out the video from the Summerfest grounds above!
Meanwhile, FOX6 News is the official television station of the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, and we will be broadcasting Saturday's big Harley parade LIVE on Saturday, August 31st.
The parade will also be streamed on FOX6's website, FOX6Now.com.
