With the coming of the New Year, some promise to join a gym, stop swearing or eat less chocolate -- but a resolution that is easy and has long-lasting effects is being financially responsible.

CreditCards.com says over 50% of consumers will make financial resolutions in 2013, but less than half of those people will succeed.
