Child pornography case; Racine man accused, jailed on 9 charges

RACINE, Wis. - A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Racine man on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

What we know:
Investigators with the Racine County Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit began an investigation into Dustin Heddings for alleged possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), often referred to as child pornography. Investigators were able to establish that Heddings had uploaded CSAM to his Snapchat account, and they obtained a search warrant.
On Feb. 4, investigators executed the search warrant on Heddings’ residence in Racine. Investigators arrested Heddings and seized numerous electronic devices.

A sheriff’s computer analysist performed an initial examination of the devices and located multiple images of CSAM.
The investigators interviewed Heddings who admitted to downloading and viewing CSAM. Heddings referred to himself as a "disgusting human being," a news release says.

What's next:
Heddings is being held at the Racine County Jail on $450,000 bail. He faces nine counts of possession of child pornography.
