Chester Bowers
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- U.S. Marshals announced on Monday, October 28th the arrest and conviction of Chester Bowers.
Bowers is a previously convicted child sex offender and sexual predator. He pleaded guilty on Friday, October 25th to one count of failing to register as a sex offender and two counts of distribution of child pornography.
Bowers was charged by criminal complaint on May 3rd in the Eastern District of Wisconsin with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender following a 2 ½ year fugitive investigation involving the U.S. Marshals Middle District of Pennsylvania and Eastern District of Wisconsin Fugitive Task Forces. The investigation showed Bowers had fled Pennsylvania in October 2010 and relocated to West Allis using the stolen identity of a former roommate. As a culmination of this investigation Bowers was arrested by the West Allis Police Department on April 29th.
An investigation showed Bowers had been in possession of and/or distributed over 10,000 images and videos depicting child pornography while residing in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania from between June 2009 and April 2013. Bowers was charged with these crimes.
Bowers is scheduled for sentencing on January 29, 2014. He faces maximum penalties of 50 years of imprisonment and up to a lifetime of supervised release.
