Jerry Stewart, accused of trying to suffocate woman, sought by U.S. Marshals

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- U.S. Marshals are looking for 32-year-old Jerry Stewart.

Stewart is charged with two counts of strangulation, three counts of battery and six counts of bail jumping in connection with a single incident on September 18th.

A criminal complaint says Stewart punched and tried to suffocate a woman at a home on Milwaukee's north side.  Police say the woman grabbed a bottle of bleach in self-defense and the bleach splashed into the eyes of a child, who was taken to a hospital.

U.S. Marshals say Stewart hasn't been seen since the woman was attacked and her child burned.

Stewart is 6'3'' and weighs 155 pounds. He has a scar under his left eye. U.S. Marshals say he may be in the area of 3rd and Keefe.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call U.S. Marshals at 414-297-3707.
