Brookfield robbery at Burlington; pepper spray used by suspect

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - Brookfield police requested the public's help to identify and locate suspects tied to a Burlington store robbery that happened on Tuesday, Jan. 7. One of the two has been taken into custody.

What we know:
Brookfield officers were dispatched to the store on Capitol Drive around 6:30 p.m. for an armed robbery.
Police said, during the course of the robbery, two suspects were seen entering the store. The first one was wearing a multicolored, striped sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect entered directly behind the first suspect, wearing black joggers and a gray zip-up sweater with a beige hat.
The man in the multicolored, striped sweatshirt was seen taking multiple coats off of hangers within the store, police said. He then left the store with the coats – and sprayed the loss prevention officer in the face with pepper spray.

The suspect was seen getting into a white 2024 Chrysler Pacifica with Wisconsin license plates: AFY-8022. That suspect has since been taken into custody, according to police.
Roughly eight minutes later, the suspect in the beige hat was also seen exiting the store and getting into the Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle left eastbound through the parking lots and exited onto 124th Street near Capitol Drive. The second suspect has not been identified.
Police said the total amount of merchandise taken was valued at $377.94.
