Body of 57-year-old man discovered in wooded area in Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says a "skeletonized body" has been discovered near Underwood Parkway and Bluemound in Wauwatosa.

The body, said to be that of a 57-year-old man was discovered on Sunday, March 30th just after 4:00 p.m.

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, the body was discovered by a father and son who had been hiking through the wooded area looking for deer antlers. The two were dressed in camouflage.

911 was called when they came up on the body.

The Medical Examiner's report says the body was well hidden, and located under a large shrubbery bush. The body was mostly skeletonized, and was frozen to the ground.

The Medical Examiner's Office says a wallet was discovered on the body -- with an ID card for James Kieckbusch.

Several partial fingerprints were obtained, and delivered to MPD for further investigation, according to the Medical Examiner. MPD was able to positively identify the body as belonging to Kieckbusch.

The Medical Examiner says Wauwatosa police began a background check and notification of family.

The Medical Examiner's report says several pill bottles were discovered in a jacket pocket -- but the name of the person they were prescribed to was not visible on the label due to water damage. The medications discovered include: Abilify, Mirtazapine and Hydroxyzine.

The Medical Examiner's report says Kieckbusch was on parole. He was reportedly last seen in September or October. Shortly thereafter, he failed to report to his parole agent on an identity theft case -- and was reported to police. In November, he missed a court appointment.

The report says Kieckbusch's brother told officials he was a "binge drinker" who smoked cigarettes and had a past history of illicit drug use. His brother also told officials Kieckbusch had a history of bipolar disorder.

The cause of death in this case is undetermined. Law enforcement officials say there are no signs of foul play.
