Authorities searching for suspects in Toppers armed robbery

WEST MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- West Milwaukee Police are still searching for the two suspects of an armed robbery at a Toppers Pizza on Miller Park Way Friday, November 8th. They are asking the public for help in locating the teens.

Authorities say the two marched in to the restaurant with a gun shortly after midnight and demanded money from three employees.

"Two guys come in, one of them is displaying a firearm, one was presumed to have one," said Dennis Nasci of the West Milwaukee Police Department. "They went in and took over the place, demanded money."

The employees handed over cash from the registers but the suspects demanded more, forcing the employees to take them to the store's safe. One of the men fired three rounds from a silver semi-automatic handgun into the locked safe.

"They thought that maybe if they shot a couple of rounds at it they could get it to open but that didn't work for them," said Nasci.

After unsuccessfully attempting to rob the safe the suspects fled the restaurant with just the money from the registers.

Toppers corporate office says its employees did everything correctly during the incident.

"They came in and demanded money and our team members just cooperated and gave them what they wanted," said Adam Oldenburg of Toppers. "We're just grateful that nobody got hurt."

West Milwaukee Police say they expect to find the suspects, but are asking for help from the public.

One of the suspects is described as a male, Hispanic, in his late teens, 5’1″ to 5’2″, weighing 120 to 140 pounds. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.

The second suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, 5’7″ to 5’8″, about 200 pounds, in his late teens. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

If you have any information about the suspects in this case, you are asked to call the West Milwaukee Police Department at 414-645-2151.
