MILWAUKEE -- It was a tense atmosphere at Alverno College on Monday morning, March 25 -- after a note was found saying there was a bomb on campus. As a result, school administrators did not take any chances -- they canceled all classes and events for the day.
"I'm a CA on campus and I had to knock on doors and tell everyone to evacuate. But we didn't know why or anything," said Jennifer Hazen, a junior at Alverno.
As students and staff make their way out of the buildings, more than a dozen Milwaukee police officers and firefighters were on their way in.
"Alverno had messaged me saying that there was a bomb threat, classes are canceled. And I was like, 'Well, that's not a fire, but something else!'" said Arieal Nelson, a freshman at Alverno.
Investigators with bomb sniffing dogs searched for a device that was never found.
"I don't want to be scared," Nelson said. "The environment we have here is very friendly and it's like really weird to get something like that."
