After-school activities CANCELED at Homestead High School after threat

MEQUON -- An investigation is underway, and all after-school activities have been canceled at Homestead High School in Mequon after a threat was made on Tuesday, October 25th.

According to a statement from the Mequon-Thiensville School District, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a Homestead High School student observed a note written on the inside of a bathroom stall door stating: “Bomb @ 4:20.”

It is unclear when the note was written.

The student reported the information to a campus supervisor, who notified administrators. Immediately thereafter, police were notified. During consultation between administrators and police, it was determined that the incident did not warrant an immediate evacuation -- but that after-school dismissal was an appropriate course of action.

The following actions were taken:

All after-school activities have been canceled Tuesday evening to allow law enforcement to complete an additional security sweep within the school building.

School district officials said this in the statement:

Classes will be in session Wednesday at Homestead High School as regularly scheduled.
