MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The National Weather Service issued a TORNADO WARNING for Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties at 8:00 p.m. Thursday -- to be in effect through 8:30 p.m. Shortly before 9:00 p.m., ALL watches and warnings in effect were CANCELLED by the National Weather Service.A Tornado Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Watch were issued for portions of southeastern Wisconsin on Thursday -- but those were cancelled early.A Flood Warning was issued for Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties earlier Thursday.

ELKHORN (WITI) -- Storms moving in from the south and west prompted a Tornado Watch, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch and several warnings Thursday, April 9th, including a Tornado Warning that was issued around 8:00 p.m. for Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties.

MOORE, Okla. -- KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan and helicopter pilot Jon Welsh were on the air as a tornado formed and touched down in Moore, Oklahoma on Wednesday.Moments after Morgan pointed to what he called a "gustnado" of debris,  rotating winds from the storm started to cause electrical explosions and other destruction on screen.The tornado destroyed homes, flipped semis on their sides and tore the roof off an elementary school.

Colfax tornado causes more than $1 million in damage to schools & athletic complex

COLFAX (AP) — A weak tornado that struck last week caused more than $1 million in damage to Colfax schools and the district's athletic complex.The Chippewa Herald reports the tornado touched down briefly twice Friday before reaching the building housing the elementary, middle and high schools.Besides causing significant roof damage to the building, the tornado also took out two storage sheds in the athletic complex as well as damaging fences, dugouts, bleachers, grounds and trees.A couple of big vent covers were ripped off the school roof, leaving holes for rain to pour into the building.

COLFAX (AP) — A weak tornado struck the western Wisconsin village of Colfax on Friday, June 27th, downing trees, tearing roofs off homes and knocking out power.Police Chief Bill Anderson tells The Associated Press the brief tornado struck without warning "right on main street" around 3:15 p.m. Friday.Anderson says the tornado damaged a gas station and tore roofs off some houses, but only one family was displaced.
