Milwaukee Brewers fall 12-9 to Cincinnati Reds

MILWAUKEE -- Joey Votto put the Reds ahead with a two-run home run in the ninth inning and the Cincinnati Reds came back to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 12-9 Saturday.

Trailing 9-8, Votto hit his 25th homer of the year off Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez (0-3), whose streak of 35 consecutive saves dating back to last season was broken. The Reds added two more runs when Todd Frazier, who hit his 30th homer in the fifth, scored on a passed ball and Tucker Barnhart hit an RBI single.

Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 25th save in 27 chances. J.J. Hoover (6-0) got the win.

The win ended the Red's four-game losing streak, and the team has won twice in its last 15 games.

Keyvius Sampson pitched 3 2-3 innings for Cincinnati, giving up six runs on seven hits.

Scooter Gennett tied a career high with four hits and drove in three runs for Milwaukee.
