"Win-win-win for Milwaukee:" Common Council approves $2M grant for blighted properties in Sherman Park

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Common Council on Tuesday, November 22nd approved legislation that will allow the city to use up to $2 million in grant funding from the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions for the demolition, deconstruction and rehabilitation of blighted properties -- according to a statement from three Milwaukee aldermen.

The statement from Alderman Khalif Rainey, Alderman Russell Stamper II and Alderman Michael Murphy says the funding is expected to pay for the demolition of 100 homes, and for 100 homes to be rehabilitated.
