WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Koehler of the Waubeka Fire Department passed away in a motorcycle crash on Friday, Nov. 2.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a Fredonia man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway H, east of Highway M in the Town of Farmington at around 8:10 p.m. He was taken to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The Waubeka Fire Department shared the following message on their Facebook page:




The Village of Grafton Fire Department also shared a touching message in honor of Chief Koehler.




Chief Koehler was 53 years old.

This is the 9th traffic fatality in Washington County this year.
