Two men now charged in connection with TCF Bank robbery in Racine

RACINE -- Two men are now charged in connection with a bank robbery at the TCF Bank, located in the 3900 block of Douglas Ave. on Monday afternoon, November 26th.

39-year-old Antonio Brown faces one count of armed robbery, party to a crime.

28-year-old Darnell Williams faces three counts, including armed robbery, party to a crime, attempting to flee or elude a traffic officer and first degree recklessly endangering safety.

Police took the men into custody on Monday.

Police say the suspects entered the bank just before 3:00 p.m. Monday. One suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money. The employees complied with the suspect's demands and the two suspects fled.

Following the bank robbery, dispatchers broadcast a description of the suspects and vehicle, and officers located a vehicle matching that description several blocks away. The vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit began.

The vehicle eventually stopped, and the two individuals took off on foot. Officers then began an extensive search.

One suspect was taken into custody, and another entered a silver vehicle -- according to a witness. The driver of the silver vehicle reportedly picked up the suspect, as she feared for her and her child's safety, and was not involved in the robbery.

The second suspect was located by police in the rear seat of the vehicle and was taken into custody.

No one was injured.

The FBI says Brown and Williams may be working with a group, responsible for a slew of recent bank robberies.

"We are in the process of interviewing two individuals who were taken into custody (Monday) in the Racine robbery, and we're still looking for an individual that was involved in the Kenosha robbery," Leonard Peace with the FBI said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI. There is a $10,000 reward being offered.
