This excerpt from the Supreme Court ruling is moving people to tears

Justice Anthony Kennedy authored today’s ruling legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states.

In closing his opinion, he wrote this passage, which is moving many to tears:



The Supreme Court extended the right to marry to same-sex couples nationwide in a landmark ruling on Friday.

The 5-4 ruling had Justice Anthony Kennedy writing for the majority with the four liberal justices. Each of the four conservative justices wrote their own dissent.
