Sue Sachdeva, in prison for embezzling from Koss, her former employer, wants reduced sentence

MILWAUKEE -- Sue Sachdeva, the woman behind the massive embezzlement case at Koss could be getting out of prison early.

In 2010, Sachdeva was sentenced to 132 months in prison. She was convicted of embezzling $34 million from Koss while she was VP of Finance.

Sachdeva pleaded guilty to six counts of wire fraud.

United States Attorney James Santelle says Sachdeva has helped them prosecute two others, and she's now asking that her sentence be reduced by 25% -- or 33 months.

One man was prosecuted for selling and converting to his own use jewelry and other property Sachdeva had purchased using funds she embezzled from her former employer. Sachdeva testified at this man's trial in 2013. Antonio Chakonas then agreed to plead guilty to one count of mail fraud. He was sentenced to serve six months in prison.

The other case involved a man prosecuted for concealing and converting to his own use property Sachdeva had purchased using funds she embezzled from Koss. Adam Burback pleaded guilty to one count of removing and concealing property subject to seizure by the United States. He was sentenced to serve six months in prison.

If Sachdeva's sentence is reduced, her total time served would be a little more than eight years.
