(WITI) -- Wisconsin Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin responded to the Supreme Court's announcement on Wednesday morning, June 26th that the DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) is unconstitutional -- thereby allowing same-sex couples that were married in a state that allows same-sex marriage to receive federal benefits.
Baldwin is the first openly gay United States Senator.
