SC Johnson demands Oklahoma AG 'retract statements' after wrong tagline used in opioid settlement case

RACINE -- Racine-based SC Johnson leaders asked the Oklahoma attorney general to retract a statement he made after an historic opioid lawsuit.

The pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson was ordered to pay more than $500 million to the state of Oklahoma after the AG argued the company fueled the opioid crisis there.

During comments Monday, Aug. 26, the AG made reference to the tagline, "A family company."

That's the tagline for SC Johnson -- not Johnson & Johnson.

A letter from SC Johnson said the same mistake was made in May, and they brought it to the AG's attention at that time as well.

The two companies are not connected in any way.
