Police: Suspect impersonates an officer, robs victim of money on Milwaukee's south side
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating an armed robbery that happened on the city's south side on Saturday evening, September 12th. Officials say the suspect impersonated a police officer.
The suspect approached the victim on a mountain bike near 12th and Madison around 10 p.m. on Saturday. He told the victim he was the police and asked for the victim's identification. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim, told the victim to turn around as the suspect talked into his shoulder as if he was using a radio. The suspect patted the victim down, removed the victim’s wallet from his pocket and took the victim’s money. The suspect then fled on the bike.
The suspect is described as a male, white, 35 to 40 years old, about 5'10" tall, weighing about 220 pounds, with blond hair. The suspect was wearing a green pullover, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun -- and riding an all-black mountain bike.
The suspect was not wearing a police uniform and did not have anything on him to identify him as a police officer.
