Police: Man believed to be possible abduction victim is safe; investigation ongoing
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police on Sunday, Feb. 3 asked for the public's help locating Tobias Jones, 29, considered "critically missing." Police said it was believed Jones might have been the victim of a possible abduction that occurred on Friday near 26th and Fairmount -- as he matched the description of the victim.
Police on Sunday made contact with Jones after his family members contacted police, believing he was the possible abduction victim. Police said Jones was found to be safe.
Police said they continue to investigate the possible abduction.
On Friday, police offered a description of the suspects -- asking for the public's help identifying them. They said the possible abduction happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday. When officers were dispatched to the area near 26th and Fairmount, they learned a man was beaten by two suspects. Police said it's believed the suspects placed the victim inside a small, silver sedan (possibly a Nissan) and fled in an unknown direction.
Police on Friday described the victim as a male, black, in his 20s, with long dreadlocks, wearing dark clothing.
The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1: Male, black, between the ages of 27 and 30, standing 6' tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.
Suspect #2: Male, black, between the ages of 27 and 30, unknown height, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.
