Pedestrian struck by vehicle at 108th and Oklahoma Avenue; driver taken into custody
WEST ALLIS -- West Allis police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night, January 31st.
It happened near Highway 100 and Oklahoma Avenue around 7:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a pedestrian who had sustained serious injuries. The injured pedestrian, a 58-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Initial investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking westbound across the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on S. 108th Street.
Police say the striking vehicle did not immediately stop for the crash. Officers located the striking vehicle and the driver nearby.
A 47-year-old man from Waukesha is currently in police custody in connection to this crash.
West Allis Police Department Traffic Investigators and officers continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding this crash.
