More rain Sunday brings flooding concerns, especially north of Milw.

THIENSVILLE (WITI) -- A Flood Watch is in effect for the FOX6 viewing area through Monday morning, April 14th at 10:00 a.m. -- and with more rain on the way, flooding is a concern in many areas -- especially north of Milwaukee.

In Thiensville, after Saturday's rain, the ground is saturated and that means flooding is once again a concern.

The Milwaukee River was rushing on Sunday in Mequon, Thiensville and Cedarburg.

To many in the area, it appeared to be getting higher as the afternoon turned to evening.

"I was here three days ago, and the river was three feet lower. I was going to go fishing, but you can't get to shore. There is quite a bit of water just coming through, and I did not expect it at all," Steve Schopp said.

"It doesn't seem like it rained that much, but the river is higher. I didn't think it would be this tall, or this high up," Jess Bergren said.

Lois Konig has lived near the river since 1975. She went to see the rising river after Saturday's rain -- but says she was more curious than concerned.

"It doesn't bother me," Konig said.

On Monday, the much cooler temperatures will bring a chance of light snow -- and flooding concerns are expected to continue.
