Milwaukee shootings Thursday; 2 dead, 2 wounded

38th and Congress, Milwaukee

Milwaukee police said two people were killed, and two others were wounded in separate shootings on Thursday, May 28. 

38th and Congress

What we know:

The first shooting happened around 3 a.m. MPD said a 38-year-old died, and a 40-year-old arrived at a hospital for treatment. Another 36-year-old victim later showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound.

What we don't know:

It's not clear what led to the shooting.

40th and Burleigh

What we know:

At about 12:45 p.m., a person was shot during a fight.

Scene near 40th and Burleigh

The 59-year-old victim was pronounced dead despite life-saving measures.

The suspect, a 49-year-old man, was arrested in the area and criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

23rd and Michigan 

What we know:

Around 10 p.m., a 31-year-old woman fired several shots during an argument. She was taken into custody. 

No one was injured by the gunfire.
