Milwaukee police investigating four separate shooting incidents
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating four separate shooting incidents that occurred late Thursday night, January 15th into early Friday morning, January 16th.
The first shooting incident occurred in the area of 104th and Appleton Avenue around 11:20 p.m. Police say a 24-year-old Milwaukee man presented himself at a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds. At this time, police say he has not be forthcoming regarding the circumstances and is not cooperating with investigators. Police say their investigation into this matter is ongoing.
The second shooting occurred at 12 a.m. in the 6000 block of W. Bradley Road. The victim, a 29-year-old man from Milwaukee, indicated that he was walking home from a store when he was approached by a subject on the sidewalk. After some conversation, the subject started to walk away, but turned and shot the victim, who was able to run home and call for help. The victim was transported to a the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening wound. Police say their investigation into this matter is ongoing.
The third shooting occurred in the 5300 block of N. 37th Street around 12:13 a.m. The victim, a 27-year-old man from Milwaukee, stated that he had just left a residence when he was shot by an unknown man. He told police he was able to return to the residence and call for help. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening wound. Police say the victim is also not cooperating with investigators who are looking into the circumstances of this incident.
The fourth shooting occurred in the 4600 block of N. 40th Street at 12:30 a.m. The 22-year-old male victim received a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. After further investigation, Milwaukee police learned the shooting was self-inflicted.
