Medical College of Wisconsin alerts patients about security incident involving employee email account

MILWAUKEE -- The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) has notified approximately 3,200 patients by letter about a recently discovered security incident involving an employee’s email account. That is according to a news release posted on MCW's website.

The release indicates MCW has mailed letters to each individual who may be affected to notify them of the incident.

Here's what happened:


MCW officials say they are not aware of any reports of identity fraud, theft, or other harmful activity resulting from this incident. There is no evidence that any personal or health information was actually acquired or viewed.
