Light snow creates poor driving conditions during morning commute

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Light snowfall Monday morning, November 25th created poor driving conditions for drivers during their morning commute.

The colder temperatures and snowfall turned the roads slick. Within about an hour, there were literally dozens of minor fender benders throughout the Milwaukee area. But that slowed all the others drivers in the system making commute times swell well beyond their norms.

Just before 11 a.m., the Milwaukee Dept. of Public Works indicated 84 salters were on the road. They expected to be finished salting the main roads by late morning. They'll be tackling the neighborhood side streets throughout Monday afternoon.

The FOX6 Storm Center team indicates we'll see snow amounts between one and two inches through much of southeast Wisconsin. There could be places where the snow adds up a little more.

Additionally, a brisk wind out of the southwest will put a chill in the air. Monday's high should be around 32 degrees.

The remainder of the week looks to be quiet but colder-than-average. The typical high for this time of year is around 40 degrees, but we'll remain in the 30s.
