Hartland police chase; 42-year-old woman taken into custody

HARTLAND, Wis. - A 42-year-old Hartland woman was arrested following a police chase on Jan. 14.

What we know:
According to the Hartland Police Department, around 9:30 p.m., the Waukesha County Communications dispatch advised of a vehicle with front-end damage driving on its rims.
A Pewaukee officer spotted the vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 16 from Capitol Drive. A pursuit was initiated but later terminated.
The vehicle entered the Village of Hartland, where the Hartland police initiated a pursuit. Tire deflation devices disabled the vehicle and a high-risk traffic stop was initiated.
Police say the driver, a 42-year-old woman from Hartland, did not comply with commands.
During this time, both directions of Highway 16 were closed. Officers were later able to take the driver into custody and the highway reopened.

The driver will be booked into jail and charges referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office for one count of felony knowingly fleeing/eluding an officer, three counts of felony bail jumping, and one misdemeanor count of resisting an officer.
