'Guns don't solve anything:' Gas station gun battle caught on camera; 2 wounded

MILWAUKEE -- A gas station gun battle left two people hurt at the BP gas station near 35th and McKinley in Milwaukee. It happened around 11 p.m. Monday, March 25, and it was all caught on camera.

The video showed an SUV turned and parked behind the gas station. Moments later, two masked individuals approached a parked vehicle -- opening the back door. Then, a woman stepped out from the other side and was quickly pulled behind the vehicle by one of the hooded suspects.

Police said the two suspects confronted the 33-year-old woman for an unknown reason -- leading to a physical altercation. One of the suspects shot the woman.

The video showed it appeared a friend called for help. A man wearing a red shirt appeared -- grabbing something from the vehicle as his friend continued to struggle with the suspects in the middle of the gas station parking lot. As he walked back, they let the woman go, but guns were drawn. Not long after, at least one shot was fired.

The 34-year-old man in red hobbled in pain behind the vehicle as more bullets flew. The video showed sparks lighting up the pavement from the intense gunfire.

The man in red took cover and aimed what appeared to be a rifle, as the woman chased after the suspects.

Officers arrived moments later, placing tape and evidence markers around the scene.

Police said two people were wounded.

Gas station customers FOX6 News spoke with called the surveillance video shocking.

"I know guns don't solve anything. Maybe he should have called 911. It's violence, and it can't be stopped using violence," said Eric Norris.
