Gov. Tony Evers announces the passing of personal assistant in tubing accident

MADISON -- Gov. Tony Evers announced on Monday, July 20 the death of 25-year-old staffer, Ben Belzer, the governor’s personal assistant, who died tragically in a tubing accident over the weekend.

A news release said Belzer joined the governor’s office as the governor’s personal assistant in February 2019. He was raised in La Crosse, Wisconsin, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and previously worked for U.S. Congressman Ron Kind and at Blumenfeld & Associates, LLC.
