Milwaukee author with Down syndrome, book event promotes acceptance

GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee hosted a book signing party with local author Ravaughn Williams, who has Down syndrome, on Saturday.

Williams' book "I AM HERE!: Living Life to My Fullest Potential" shares his journey of embracing his unique potential and living life to the fullest.

"I feel great because god has a plan for me, and I got a plan for him, too," Ravaughn Williams said. "I'm so excited for myself."

GiGi's Playhouse said the event was part of its 10-year anniversary celebration. The organization hopes to change perceptions about Down syndrome and promote acceptance.

"The book talks about his experiences, his learning experience and life experiences," said Dawn Williams,  Ravaughn's mom. "The book tells it all."
