Milwaukee recycling plant fire, no injuries

Firefighters on Friday, Sept. 3 responded to the scene of a scrap fire at Alter Metal Recycling near 16th and Bruce in Milwaukee. 

According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, it took crews approximately one hour to contain the fire – leaving around 8:15 a.m.

MFD said that "while the smoke may have looked impressive from the freeway" it was a relatively small fire.

No one from the company and no firefighters were injured.

MFD said there is no known cause at this time.
