Wave win 23-10 over Rochester Lancers on the road

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Wave completed their east coast road trip with a 23-10 win over the Rochester Lancers improving to 11-1 for the season. The Wave’s offensive pressure and balanced team attack proved too much for the Lancers.

Lancers Grandy Renfrow scored first in the game which ended up being the only goal in the quarter. The Wave killed the Lancers first power play of the game after Marcio Leite received a blue card for charging. The Wave remained composed sticking to its game plan entering the second quarter. Ian Bennett scored his ninth goal of the year evening the game up at 2-2 with the assist by Matt Stewart. Stewart then added a goal himself giving the Wave a 4-2 lead. With seconds left in the half Josh Rife sent a pass to Marco Terminesi who striked from 3-point range giving the Wave a 7-2 lead at the end of the half.

The Milwaukee Wave continued their offensive pressure in the third quarter which resulted in four goals for the Wave in the quarter. Terminesi continued where he left off scoring just :27 seconds into the 3rd quarter. Chile Farias scores a 3 point goal, his first goal as a Lancer and sixth for the season cutting the Wave’s lead to 9-5. The physical play continued as J.P. Rodrigues was sent to the penalty box for tripping allowing the Lancers to capitalize on the power play with a 3 point goal by Doug Miller. Nick Perera answered with a 3 point goal of his own giving the Wave a 12-8 lead. The Wave went on their first power play of the night after Jeremy Ortiz was called for tripping but were unable to capitalize however Guiliano Oliverio tapped one in moments after the power play expired. Bennett scored has his second goal of the night, a 3 point goal giving the Wave a 17-8 lead. Terminesi completed his first hat trick of the season scoring his third goal of the game seconds into the fourth quarter. Terminesi used the far post to bounce in his fourth goal of the game and second of the quarter. Perera finished a textbook goal after a fantastic assist from Jonathon Greenfield giving the Wave the 23-8 lead. The Lancers Kocic added a goal prior to the finish giving the Wave a 23-10 win.

The Milwaukee Wave plays on the road in Wichita for three games before returning home on January 29th.
