Reaction to Bucks draft choice, Giannis Antetokounmpo of Greece

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- While the Milwaukee Bucks continue to put together their roster for next season in the NBA, it's hard to say if the team's first round draft choice will be ready to help, and it's just hard to say his name, period.

Not much is known about the Bucks' first round draft choice this year -- other than the fact that 18-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo is from Greece. They are proud of him in his native country, and eager to meet him in his soon-to-be new home.

"The Greek community in Milwaukee is strong in its identity, and anytime we have an opportunity to have one of ours come here from Greece -- there's a lot of pride," Father Angelo with the Greek Orthodox Church said.

Father Angelo was one of the lunchtime customers at the Grecian Inn in Brookfield, where there was a lot to say about the owners, the food and the new Buck.

"The reality is, if he comes here, he'll look at the menu and he'll probably try something American first. He might go for the chili first. But he's going to love the pastichio here, the gyro here, the dolmades here -- I mean the soup which is featured today, all of that is going to make him feel right at home," Grecian Inn Owner Georgios Dimitroupolus said.

There are still many question about the draft choice: regarding the NBA game -- can he play it? Regarding fans and announcers when it comes to his name -- can they say it?

But when it comes to whether he'll find support in his new place of residence, there's no question he will.
