On the road again: Titans score first, Packers can't recover -- falling 47-25

NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- The Green Bay Packers on Sunday, November 13th are kicking off a three-game road trip with a visit to Nashville, Tennessee -- to square up against the Titans.

Play got underway at noon -- and this is a a game you'll see only on FOX6 -- the first part of a doubleheader on FOX.

The Green Bay Packers said linebacker Clay Matthews would miss the game Sunday against the Tennessee Titans because of a lingering hamstring injury.

Coach Mike McCarthy ruled Matthews out on Friday. The Packers' best pass rusher would be sidelined a third straight game, and a fourth overall this season.

McCarthy also said receiver Randall Cobb would be limited for Sunday's game. Cobb hurt his hamstring last month. The Packers were cautious with how they used Cobb in last week's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Starting lineup changes: #56 Julius Peppers will start at linebacker in place of Matthews, #36 LaDarius Gunter will start at cornerback for Randall, #63 Corey Linsley will start at center in place of Tretter, and #82 Richard Rodgers will start at tight end for Cook.

As play got underway on Sunday afternoon in Nashville, the Titans won the coin toss and opted to defer.

The Packers would receive.

The Titans tried to surprise the Packers with an onside kick, but Packers linebacker Joe Thomas Jr. was all over it -- and Green Bay would start at the Tennessee 49 yard line.

The Titans scored first during this matchup -- after quickly taking over possession of the ball at their own 20 yard line.

DeMarco Murray ran the ball into the end zone for a touchdown with 13:17 left in the first quarter.

During their next possession, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was able to hit Jordy Nelson across the middle for a 20-yard gain -- but he was later sacked, and the Packers were forced to punt.

During the Titans' next possession, Packers' Jake Schum's 48-yard punt was fair-caught at the Tennessee 15 yard line.

Early in the first quarter, the Packers announced guard TJ Lang was out with an ankle injury -- his return questionable.

It would be first-and-25 for the Titans at their own 15 yard line after penalties.

The Titans scored again -- with a pass from DeMarco Murray to tight end Delanie Walker in the end zone.

With the extra point, the Titans then led the Packers 14-0.

The THIRD Titans' touchdown came just prior to the end of the first quarter -- with a pass from DeMarco Murray to Anthony Fasano. With the extra point, the Titans led the Packers 21-0 with :08 seconds left in the first half.

As the second half got underway, Packers' running back James Starks was able to pick up 11 yards, before a 17-yard completion to Davante Adams -- and the Packers were soon at first and goal at the Tennessee one yard line after six consecutive completions.

The Packers got on the board with a pass from QB Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson -- for a Packers TOUCHDOWN!

With the extra point, the score was then Titans 21, Packers 7.

The Packers' scoring drive included nine plays in 4:19 for 75 yards gained. The drive began at the Green Bay 25 yard line.

The next Titans touchdown came courtesy Titans' wide receiver Rishard Matthews.

With the extra point, the score was 28-7 -- Titans leading.

During the Packers' next possession, Davante Adams was able to gain 46 yards on a pass from Aaron Rodgers.

Then, Packers' Mason Crosby completed a 29-yard field goal to bring the score to 28-10 with 3:55 left in the half.

The Packers' scoring drive included eight plays in 4:50 for 64 yards gained. The drive began at the Packers 25 yard line.

Just before halftime, the Titans were able to extend their lead to 35-10 with a touchdown catch by Titans' wide receiver Kendall Wright.

The Packers answered -- with a touchdown of their own.

Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers threw a pass to James Starks, who then ran the ball into the end zone for a TD. It was Starks' first TD of the season on the 13-yard screen pass.

Mason Crosby's extra point was NO GOOD -- and the score was then Titans 35, Packers 16 with :43 left in the first half.

The Packers' scoring drive included six plays in 1:12 for 75 yards gained. The drive began at the Green bay 25 yard line.

The Packers took over at their own 40 yard line with one time out remaining in the first half.

As play got underway in the second half, the Packers announced Lang and linebacker Jake Ryan were out with ankle injuries and wouldn't return to this game.

The Packers were able to force a three-and-out to start the second half.

Early in the second half, the Packers picked up the first down on the six-yard pitch to James Starks, and then, Davante Adams hauled in a 35-yard over-the-shoulder catch to convert on fourth and four.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers scrambled for a 20-yard touchdown -- and Perrish Cox was flagged for a late hit on Rodgers which led to a brawl on the field.

That penalty would be assessed on kickoff.

The Packers' scoring drive included 10 plays in 4:12 for 78 yards gained. The drive began at the Green Bay 22 yard line.

The Titans led 41-22 after a pass from Titans QB Marcus Mariota to WR Tajae Sharpe and a failed two-point conversion.

The Packers brought the score to Titans 41, Green Bay 25 after a 38-yard field goal by Mason Crosby, with :57 left in the third quarter.

The Packers' scoring drive included 11 plays in 5:30 for 46 yards gained. The drive began at the Green Bay 34 yard line.

The score was 41-25 at the end of the third quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Packers announced tackle David Bakhtiari was out with a knee injury, and his return was questionable. Jason Spriggs took his place.

Titans kicker Ryan Succop was able to complete a 51-yard field goal to bring the Titans' lead to 44-25.

Succop soon completed a 23-yard field goal to bring the score to Titans 47, Packers 25.

Brett Hundley was in as QB for the Packers as this game came to an end. According to the Packers -- it was his first regular-season QB appearance of his NFL career.
