Milwaukee Wave get 6-5 win over rival Kansas City Comets in home opener

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Wave opened the home season Saturday night, November 19th at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena with a 6-5 win against the rival Kansas City Comets.

“The character, mentality and effort the guys brought to the game was phenomenal,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero in a statement.

The dynamic duo of number 26, Ian Bennett and number 24, Max Ferdinand dominated the field and helped each other out a number of times -- Bennett with three goals and an assist, and Max Ferdinand with three assists.

Number 14 Daniel Mattos scored two goals while number 8 Robert Renaud scored one.

“The energy and decision making is getting better and better every week," said Oliviero in the statement. This win will only help their confidence going forward.”

The Wave now sets their sights back to Iowa and the Cedar Rapids Rampage to seek revenge after the Thanksgiving holiday.
