"Green, Gold and Pink:" Mason Crosby hosts fundraiser to support breast cancer research



BROOKFIELD -- Hundreds on Sunday, May 1st showed up to Brookfield Square Mall's Center Court for an opportunity to meet Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby and support breast cancer research.

FOX6's Mary Stoker Smith emceed the "Green, Gold and Pink" fundraiser.

Crosby took pictures with fans, and signed pink mini footballs and Mother's Day cards for donations.

He also spoke alongside a breast cancer survivor and local doctor. Their message -- early screenings save lives.

"Mammograms every year, starting at age 40 saves women's lives. The earlier we can detect breast cancer, the better we can treat it and the more lives we can save," Dr. Sarah Deitch with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin.
