From a tree stand, Brett Favre congratulates Peyton Manning on passing record
DENVER — Peyton Manning broke Brett Favre's NFL record for most career passing yards Sunday but not before he was intercepted, sacked and fumbled in the opening minutes. Brett Favre sent his congratulations to Peyton Manning in a video message shot from a tree stand.
Manning entered the day with 71,836 yards through the air, 2 shy of Favre's record and tied with Favre with 186 victories.
Manning's 4-yard pass to running back Ronnie Hillman set the record.
Manning's first pass Sunday was underthrown and cornerback Marcus Peters intercepted it. His league-leading 14th interception helped put the Broncos in an early 7-0 hole.
On first down of Denver's second drive, Manning was sacked by Jaye Howard for a 2-yard loss and fumbled. Hillman recovered.
