Cubs snap Brewers streak with 5-4 win

MILWAUKEE -- The Chicago Cubs snapped a 9 game losing streak to the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park with a 5-4 victory on Wednesday night.
An error by Brewers 2nd baseman Rickie Weeks led to 2 unearned runs in the 4th inning and didn't help the cause of Yovani Gallardo, who left after just 4 frames down 5-2.
The highlight for the host was the 2,000th career hit of Aramis Ramirez, which was a home run.
Ramirez also singled in a run.
Juan Francisco's solo homer in the 9th made it a one-run game, but that's as close as the Brewers could get.
Carlos Gomez missed another game with his sprained shoulder.
The two teams, now tied for last place again, play the rubber match of the 3 game series Thursday afternoon at 1:10.
After Wednesday night's game, the Brewers optioned 2nd baseman Scooter Gennett to AAA Nashville and called up OF/1B Sean Halton from that club.
