Brewers slam Cubs, 7-0
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Sean Halton smacked his first career grand slam to highlight a 5-run first inning, as the Brewers continued their dominance of the Cubs with a 7-0 victory on Wednesday night at Miller Park.
Tyler Thornburg tossed six shutout innings and improved his record to 3-1. Thornburg, who was 0-9 with a 5.79 ERA in 15 starts at Nashville, got relief from Jimmy Nelson (2 innings) and Michael Blazek (1).
Milwaukee's now 13-5 versus Chicago's Northsiders this season. The Crew holds a 36-15 advantage since 2011.
They go for the four game sweep on Thursday.
Ryan Braun visited the clubhouse before the game; he left without speaking to the media.
