Woman followed after leaving Plymouth bar, attacked in woods: "If you scream, I'm going to kill you"

SHEYBOYGAN COUNTY -- It was supposed to be a fun night out celebrating Halloween. But what started as a night of fun, ended with an attack.

At Wild Shots Pub in Plymouth, they are preparing for a scary holiday. Halloween is just days away.

"It makes my hair stand up, seriously," said Nicole Beyer, Wild Shots Pub owner.

Nicole Beyer

Beyer only wishes she was talking about the decorations at her pub. Instead, she says a customer wearing a Minnie Mouse costume lived a real nightmare.

Beyer says Alton Lucas came to the bar on Saturday, October 24th. Near closing, investigators say he started talking to a woman who had just spent the night at a Halloween party.

Beyer says surveillance video shows that the woman thought she left the pub alone.

"She didn't know he was back there. I mean, you could tell," said Beyer.

Investigators say Lucas followed the woman into the woods of Stayer Park. She told police she was grabbed, with the suspect saying, "If you scream, I'm going to kill you."

The woman says she was punched in the face as the man tried to assault her. During the struggle, the victim says Lucas lost his footing, which allowed her to run up the hill and into the front door of a nearby home.

Beyer says the video clearly shows Lucas was alone.

Now, accused of attacking a woman in custody, Lucas likely has a new wardrobe of his own -- in the Sheboygan County Jail.

The homeowner who woke up to the victim running into her home says she is thankful her teenager accidentally left the front door open. That ultimately provided a safe haven for the woman.

Police say the woman's face was severely swollen with cuts.

If convicted in this case, Lucas faces more than 23 years in prison.
