MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday morning, June 16th on the city's north side.
It happened around 3:00 a.m. near Sherman and Rohr.
According to police, a 48-year-old woman, identified as Melody Helgren, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Officials say the incident appears to be domestic related.
The victim was transported to the hospital -- where she later died.
Police say a 52-year-old Milwaukee man has been taken into custody. MPD is expected to seek amended charges against him since the victim has passed away.
