Wisconsin Humane Society hosting 24-hour adoption event

MILWAUKEE -- As of 4:45pm Saturday, the Wisconsin Humane Society reached 75 adoptions in less than six hours! They are now halfway to our goal of finding homes for 150 animals in just 24 hours during the ASPCA Mega Matchathon.

The Milwaukee campus will remain open overnight until 11 a.m. Sunday morning when the adopt-a-thon ends.

The Wisconsin Humane Society has planned a number of events for the 24-hour adopt-a-thon including: a donation drive, free gifts for adopters, kids activities including a scavenger hunt, a craft table where kids can make cat/dog toys, food from the Streetza Pizza Food Truck which will be available at noon, the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua will be shown starting at 7:00 p.m., a paw-jama puppy parade, a Wii Just Dance tournament, a 25 percent discount for adopters in pajamas, "coffee with a canine" with Starbucks coffee, "doga yoga" and more!

Here are just a few of the puppies that are being vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped. They'll be all set to go home on Saturday morning!

This is the Wisconsin Humane Society's first 24-hour event, and is sponsored by the ASPCA.
