Winter parking rules in effect until March 2nd in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Winter parking regulations for the city of Milwaukee expire on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016.

Residents must still follow winter parking rules overnight Tuesday, March 1st into Wednesday morning, March 2nd.

With measurable snow forecasted for February 29th/March 1st, these rules will allow the Department of Public Works (DPW) to clear the streets effectively, efficiently, and most importantly -- safely.

In addition, residents are reminded that DPW can still declare a snow emergency, the “four-inch rule," or an overnight snow removal operation after March 1st.

DPW encourages vehicle owners to sign up to receive a Snow Mobile Winter Text Alert message at milwaukee.gov/mpw. Subscribers will receive a text message on their cell phone(s) alerting them that a DPW operation has been called.

Prefer an email message? Sign up through E-Notify at milwaukee.gov/mpw to receive an email with the same DPW information when a snow operation is declared.
