West Milwaukee Walmart evacuated after bomb threat phoned in

WEST MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- West Milwaukee police confirm a bomb threat was called into the Walmart near 41st and Greenfield just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23rd.

The store was evacuated after the threat was called in. K9 units from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office were brought in to check the store for any possible explosive devices. Nothing was found.

Around 8:30 p.m., West Milwaukee police turned the store back over to management. Police cannot say whether the 24-hour store was reopened.

Officials say a bomb threat was called in to the same store on Sunday, October 20th. They say these two incidents are similar -- but they could not confirm whether the same person is responsible for both threats.
