West Allis woman faces several charges in connection with OWI

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- 30-year-old Nicole Brosky faces several charges in connection with an OWI incident in which two children were found in the vehicle.

Brosky faces one count of felony personal ID theft - avoidance, two counts of OWI (2nd offense, with a minor child in the vehicle), one count of obstructing an officer and one count of misdemeanor bail jumping.

The criminal complaint in the case indicates Brosky had a pending case for operating after revocation and was placed on bond on March 1st. Thus, this latest case involved Brosky violating that bond.

Brosky was arrested on January 9th just before 6:30 p.m. Officials were dispatched to a hit-and-run crash in the 3200 block of Buckingham Road where a dark-colored van fled the scene and was leaking fluids.

Officials say Brosky's van was spotted near the accident scene, but did not pull over for officials. Officials noticed children in the van that did not appear to be restrained in proper car seats.

When interviewed by officials, Brosky apparently identified herself as "Bridget Grabowski" and said she was without a license. 

Brosky told officials the accident occurred because the children were screaming, and she looked back at them and veered over, striking a car. The criminal complaint indicates there were five children in the car -- ranging in age from seven to five months. 

Brosky reportedly failed a sobriety test and blew a .14.

The criminal complaint in the case indicates officers spoke with the children's father who reported Brosky had given authorities a false name. When officers ran Brosky's name, it was discovered there were several warrants for her arrest.

Officials spoke with the real Bridget Grabowski who said she had been friends with Brosky for 20 years, and said she had recently ended the friendship because Brosky reportedly has an addiction to prescription medication and needs help. Grabowski reported this is not the first time Brosky has used her identity.
